Season Opening Picnic & AGM
|
|
Keep the date reserved! Our new season starts up on the 29th August with our Season Opening Picnic and AGM which will be held at the Bootshaus (Frankfurt Kanu Verein), Am Schaumainkai 90, 60553 Frankfurt. The picnic starts at 16:00 so after you've had a wander around the Museumsufer why not come down and relax with us. The first 30 members of the club to arrive will get a free drink, so get there asap. ;-) You can also take the opportunity to sign up for the new 2010-11 ski season. We'll provide the charcoal for the BBQs and some buns etc. Please bring your own grillables and maybe a side salad / dessert to share. Grill-Meisters welcome!
We will be holding our AGM starting at 16:30 until about 17:30. PLEASE, PLEASE come along and support the club. After that the Opening BBQ will be open to all. Please feel free to invite friends and colleagues so that they get to know us and a taste of what we are about. Non-members welcome of course. You should then have a front window seat for the "Museumsuferfest" closing firework display.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The FSC e.V AGM will be held during the Season Opening Picnic, 16:30 29th August, 2009 at the Bootshaus (Frankfurt Kanu Verein), Am Schaumainkai 90, 60553 Frankfurt. All members of FSC e.V. are eligible to participate in the AGM, to vote for a new Board, influence the running of the Club and to approve the Club's budget for the coming season. If you are unable to attend, why not designate a proxy to vote
for you?
As one of the budget proposals will involve increasing the membership fee (in line with the recommendation of our Kassenprüfer/auditor's report last year), it could be cheaper to sign up early this year. If you are interested in helping the Club by serving on the Board or assisting the Club in some other way, please contact any current Board Member. This is your Club and we encourage your participation in its running (and its skiing, snowboarding, sports and socials, of course). Board Nominations must be presented by the 14th August. (See the Nomination Form)
More information on the meeting and attachments for agenda items will be available shortly. Feel free to bring up topics that you want to discuss in the open forum.
AGENDA
Discussions and voting will take place on the following items:
-
Trip List
- Socials List
- Amendment to FSC e.V. Constitution
- Expenditure 2009/10 Season

EGM - 23rd September 2009
|
|
As we have postponed the AGM but still need to elect new club officers for certain posts, we will be holding an EGM (extraordinary general meeting) on 23rd Sept. at 18:30 for this purpose. In order to keep the meeting as brief as possible, the agenda will be limited to the following voting.
Agenda for the EGM
- Election of two "Kassenprüfer" (auditors) for the coming seasons.
- Election of officers (President, Vice Presidents (2 positions), Secretary, Treasurer)
We do have nominees for these positions, but if anyone wishes to put their name forward to contact the Club Secretary, Julie Dickinson. You can download the nomination forms here.
It is imperative that members attend in order to have a valid vote. If you cannot attend the EGM in person but would like to participate, you can be represented by another member by written proxy (Email is OK) but that member may not represent more than three members. Teleconferencing, skyping and webex attendance (except for board elections and constitutional amendments) is also permitted if you can provide the technology!
Members can collect a free drink token from Memberships during the EGM. It is intended that the regular social activities including trip sign-ups will NOT start before 19.00 and will close as usual at 21.00. We will require two election officers at the EGM. If you would like to help YOUR club please feel free to offer your assistance – it would be very much appreciated.
Finally, we would like to extend our gratitude to Elizabeth and Lynn who will no longer be available for their current board positions, but will no doubt still be supporting the club.

Those of you who made it to the opening BBQ at the Boatshaus will have heard that the trip list is still not 100% finalised – but we are getting there! We are also planning to start electronic payments for the trips for the coming season. It is part of our endeavour to move to a cashless operation and conform to the German norm by taking payment using direct debit. More information on how this system works will be forthcoming shortly or you can ask Pete (who can tell you what you need to know). Please have your bank details available at membership sign up.

AGM Postponed | Information Meeting at the Picnic
|
|
At the picnic, it was planned to hold our AGM at 18:00, however we are officially postponing this and invite you instead to a general information meeting! This is due to the fact that we have not yet finished our financial report for the previous season and therefore have not been able to complete our budget for the coming season.
Additionally, we are also discussing with the Finanzamt about our current status as gemeinuetzige e.V. (non-profit club), based on our activities over the past 3 seasons. We will use the general information meeting to update members on our work on this so far and what is still outstanding. As this discussion concerns your club, we hope that many of you are able to make it to the general information meeting at 18:00 on Sunday and we will welcome your comments, suggestions and active support wherever possible. If you would like any specific details in advance on what we will be discussing, so that you can prepare to constructively contribute on Sunday, or would like to propose an item for discussion on Sunday, please contact the FSC e.V. secretary via email no later than Saturday night. Please find attached the new FSC e.V. General Information Meeting Agenda.
Members that don't want to be locked in the Bootshaus should leave the premisses by 22:00. If not then you should then have a front window seat for the "Museumsuferfest" closing firework display. (People will have to watch them from inside the building due to safety and security reasons)

Quite an exclusive club this year (unless I've done the sums wrong... in which case apologies!)
Thanks to everyone else who has supported the club this season and see you all on the slopes next year, unless you'll be going on the Austrian Adventure trip or coming to our summer socials in which case see you soon!
