Chamonix is an historic French town steeped in mountaineering tradition, famous for abundant snowfalls and situated at the foot of Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest peak at 4807m. Free local buses service the four areas of Chamonix and there’s something for every level of skier and boarder, though not necessarily in the same place. Les Grands Montets has challenges for the most experienced, Le Tour suits beginners and the combined areas of Le Brevent and La Flégère have excellent terrain for intermediates.
Competent skiers should try the famous guided Valleé Blanche tour, with guides, where the amazing Aiguille du Midi cable car takes you to 3840m and encompasses stunning scenery and an exceptionally long glacier run.
Our three-star Hotel Aiguille du Midi, with its award-winning kitchen, sauna and whirlpool, is a great base from which to explore this varied region. For those in search of some evening entertainment, Chamonix has a vibrant and varied nightlife including the micro-brewery MBC or the famous après-ski bar Chambre 9.
We are doing our best to offer exciting and safe trips for our season 2024 / 25. Please try to support the club as much as you can so that we can offer you more trips to the mountains.
